About Us:

       Department of Malayalam established in  1972 with degree-BA Malayalam course. PG started in 2015. First HOD was Prof.Soumyavathy and including  her eleven staff retired their prestigious long service. Now there are eight teaching staff including three guests.

In our Department there are two Ph.D holders and two are on going. Two minor projects one is completed and one ongoing. In the occation of 150th birth anniversary of Swamy Vivekananda the department of Malayalam conducted a National seminar on “INTEGRATING THE NATION –CONTRIBUTIONS OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDA”.


           To enlighten students through language and literature studies .To make them aware of our enriched culture and the relavence of values through the study of literature .


          The central mission of Malayalam department is to provide high quality instructions and cultural orientations to society through students.This mission is far fetchedly intented to focus on the views preserved in Malayalam and criticism regarding the ecological balance, socio-religeous  life,philosophical exposition for the enrichment of the social values .

To import knowledge of traditional text through teaching and research.

To conduct National Seminars on various aspects of oriental learning and culture.
Provide students with the cultural knowledge and awareness necessary to transmission from life and study.
